Easy to Make Mosquito Repellent Bracelet: A One Minute DIY Video

Summer means backyard BBQs, fun in the sun, and beach parties, but no one wants to be slapping pesky insects when venturing into the great outdoors. You can wave bye-bye to bugs and look great doing it when you wear these fun insect repellent bracelets. Gather up some embroidery floss in bright colors, whip up a little peppermint oil insect repellent and you’ll be on your way to some itch-free outdoor adventures this summer.

Seriously! How cute is this twist on the ol’ friendship bracelet!?

Make Shorts (or Pants) a Bigger Size: A DIY One Minute Video

I always have the best intentions every spring.

“I’m going to lose those extra pounds and fit into my favorite shorts again.”

But somehow July rolls around, it’s hot and the shorts don’t fit yet.

I could just give them away, or better yet, how about adding some fun fabric to the sides and calling it good.

DIY One Minute Video: Off-the-Shoulder Shirt

Sometimes, I worry about myself.

Katie used to remind me quite often that it wasn’t the 70’s anymore.

Maybe she was right, perhaps I haven’t moved on.

I’ve always had a thing about off-the-shoulder blouses. I think they are so cool. I think they have summer written all over them. I think they would look great with bell-bottoms. (Oops, did I really say that last thing out loud?)

The beauty is, you can easily make your own super cute off-the-shoulder blouse from any old shirt you may have in under an hour.

All you need is enough 3/4 inch elastic to go around your shoulders and a shirt with a pattern you like to get started.

DIY Cool Fabric Labels: A One Minute Video

Well yes, a sharpie WOULD work….

but, why not amp up your labeling game with these custom fabric labels? I mean all the cool kids will have them at camp this year…

And yes, you COULD get carried away and label ALL of your child’s belongings before those field trips and camp outs. Lord knows it’s important to label their undies just in case they drop them on the bus, so the teacher can hold them up and announce the owner of said undies to the world…

So maybe… just maybe, misplaced whitey-tighties SHOULD stay anonymous. 🙂

Have you seen the new tiny videos? They are so compelling, intriguing and just plain cool.

I could watch them all day long! I mean seriously, how DO they cook on that teeny tiny little stove? And those teeny tiny cooking utensils! And that teeny tiny kitchen. I’m totally smitten.

And now my favorite people over at eHow are getting in on the fun with their new series: Real Tiny DIY.

Inspired by the the tiny trend started by the
Japanese mini food videos and Tastemade’s Tiny Kitchen, eHow has launched this amazing new series on their Facebook page and it launched today at 9 am.

Get a load a’ that tiny caulking gun! And it really works!!
