Cooper is fifteen and he’d be mortified that I used the elastic in the first place but then to actually photograph it and tell everyone, well, that would really wig him out. I imagine that someday he’ll see the humor in it. Until then, I still think it’s refashioning at it’s finest! 🙂

I had an almost-Renegade moment at Target last night :
There they were, the perfect yoga pants! They were silky soft and a deep gray color and only $4!!!! Alas, they were a XXL. I tried them on anyway and wondered how I might take them in. You could have done it, I’m sure. I meanwhile, was so overwhelmed that I placed them back on the rack. Luckily, I found an almost-as-awesome pair that was also $4 in a M. The End.

The pattern, the length, the shape — I really, really like this one, Beth. Paisley is a busy pattern, but paired with the right neutral shirt and shoes, and some fun accessories, I adore an eye-catching skirt. The hem hitting just above the knees is such a flattering length, too, and looks good on nearly every woman’s body.
I can’t believe you actually used boxer shorts! You are a seamstress wizard!

Oh, I absolutely think you should, Beth. You could start a whole calendar– kind of like a Chinese New Year calendar, but for refashioned clothing. 😉
Fantastic reuse of elastic! Once I used the elastic from an old pair of nylon to make a built-in bra for a sports top.
My son grew so fast in the last year and we accumulated so many outgrown pairs of boxer shorts. I just can’t imagine anyone would want used boxers at the thrift store but I can’t bring myself to throwing them away, so I cut off the elastic and gave my husband the rest to use for rags. I’m sure there will be more “boxer elastic” projects in the future. Loved your use of old elastic, too!

My son put his old undies in the giveaway pile. I didn’t know if Goodwill would take it and I was also thinking….”Fabric!”. It is washed and clean. I have been hard pressed to figure out what to do with those undies. I am starting to get some ideas and I have hit some inspiration with your admission that you used the elastic from your son’s undies.
