I’m a Kindergarten teacher. I’ve been a teacher for 26 years and have enjoyed (almost) every minute of it. When I grow up, I want to work in publishing. Magazines have always been my guilty pleasure and I’ve secretly wanted to set up photo shoots or be a graphic designer for one, but since I’ve lived in remote areas my whole adult life, I never thought it would be possible……..
Thanks to eHow and their Senior Content and Editorial Director, Jerri Farris, I actually get to live my dream and still live in one of the most beautiful rural places in the world. 🙂
Being able to create and publish content for one of the US’s top 20 websites is such an honor and thanks to all of you who take the time to click over to eHow, read my articles, comment on them and pin them, I get to continue to do what I love.
Creating, sewing, photographing, editing, writing and publishing- it’s everything I imagined and so much more!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for being so nice and encouraging me throughout my sewing adventures.
I also want to thank everyone who has purchased my book, The Refashion Handbook! I had such fun working with C&T Publishing and their imprint Stash Books.

As always – such beautiful work and congrats on the new position!
Beth, what a wonderful opportunity!!!! I love your blog, is so inspiring, and just brightens my day, to get to see something else you have transformed. I became disabled after an ankle surgery that did not heal up right, and miss nursing. but I just focus on the blessings I do have. Sewing is my therapy. and I constantly repurpose thing for gifts, so birthdays and Christmas are not so expensive for me. Reminds me of my grandmothers day too, when they went thru the depression years, they both, were forced to repurpose and make use of everything. One grandma was very practical, and was a farm wife, that just lived everyday, trying to keep her family fed, and warm etc. My other grandma, they lost their farm in the depression, and that grandpa took a job in town, and he hunted for most of their meats, we ate pheasant, quails, and fish a lot at their house. But she has been a college educated person, who had also taught school. In her day, they were not allowed to teach once they married, so she became a home maker. She had a much more fanciful and creative nature, and served up her meals, as pretty as possible, and she would add embroidery, tatting, or crocheted edges to make a homeade item look sooo special. She could make an event of having strawberry shortcake. haha I miss her so, and often wish I could show her my newest project, or talk to her about things I saw, or fabric, she would love. just doesn’t seem fair to have lost her when we did. I just wish you the very best, and can’t wait to see what that creative mind of yours comes up with next!!!!!! xo
