DIY Summer Totebag

A few years ago, before blogging, I downloaded a tote bag pattern.

For awhile I had that pattern memorized. My sewing machine was smoking as I made bags for practically everyone I knew.

Today, I made yet another bag.

Perhaps my favorite one yet.

Oh wait, I think I say that every time I make a new one. 🙂

That is REALLY cute. I wish I had a fabric store closer. There few are far between around here. The only one I even know about is JoAnn’s in Peoria and it’s one of the largest in the country so very overwhelming. And so busy that you have to take a number and be in line for EVER. I need fabric. 😦

  8. I love it! I’m intimidated by patterns but I may just have to try this one 🙂 thanks for sharing!

    • It’s fairly easy to understand. Just lots of measuring and cutting. I didn’t put in the inside pocket which simplified it even further. I hope you try it. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Anytime you feel like making your friend Cara a tote bag, I am more than obliged to be the recipient of such beautiful work. 🙂

I don’t know about you, but I can always use another bag. Well, maybe that’s not entirely true; but I always THINK I can use another bag, which is why I’ll find myself dawdling down an aisle chock-full of them, testing the fabric in my hands, imagining where I might take it (stuffing it full of books and taking it to the beach, loading it with snacks and sneaking it into the movies).

Everything you make is lovely, Beth!

Happy Wednesday to you, my friend,
    ~ C

    • Cara, it’s amazing how you can put into words what I do in my mind. Believe it or not, I also fantasize about bags. 🙂 Only my dreams start in the fabric stage. My friends have dubbed them “Beth Bags”. One never knows when you might be the recipient of a “Beth Bag”…….

Now that Stockshow (I might be doing a post soon on this) and school are over, I might have some more time to sew and post.

      Thanks again for your comments!

      Beth
