Get ready for winter and keep your noggin warm with a delightful DIY fleece hat. Even if sewing isn’t your thing, you can still make a cozy, soft hat to match every outfit. It’s a simple project, and your biggest problem will be choosing which fleece to use from the wonderful selections available at your local fabric shop. All it takes is 1/2 yard of your favorite fleece and about 15 minutes of your time, and you’ll be toasty warm.
And, since I haven’t had a giveaway in FOREVER, I’d like to give all three hats away. All you have to do to be entered is click over to eHow to read the entire article, click over to YouTube to watch the video and make a comment on the video, then make a comment below letting me know you did those things. It really helps me when you click over to eHow and YouTube, all it takes is a little bit of time and it’s FREE!
I’ll announce the winner next week on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Thank you Lynda! It is a super simple and quick project. AND there’s so much cute fleece in the stores now. 🙂
Cute, but would like to see a back view. Love anything fleece/no sew! Nice video on ehow!
Thank you! It actually just looks like the fringe goes down the back.
Beth! HaPpY NeW YeaR!!! I LOVE seeing you in my Inbox! You inspire me so much!!! Ok, gotta go and watch the two videos!
Ps. I have been on the lookout for a super cute wooden pineapple bowl like yours that you keep your straight pins in!!!! About to snap the button on Ebay for one! : )
Awwwwwww, thanks Jennifer! I actually got the wooden pineapple bowl at the Salvation Army years ago for 35 cents. I still see them at thrift stores here and there.
When I get mine…I will send you a pic! About two months ago I was outbid on a set from ShopGoodwill.com! : ) My favorite online Thrift store! I do miss GoodTwice.com….they closed shop when the pandemic hit 😦 Stay healthy and keep creating on!
If I find one in my thrift store travels, I’ll get it and send it to you. 🙂
Very Clever Beth on using painters tape and the entire pattern! LoL, I commented on YouTube and Hmmmm, think it went to Facebook (dunno). My comment was I’m going to make these for each of my family members and my sweet pup, Lil Lila! Thanks for sharing this clever hat pattern!!!

Yay! A giveaway! Wonderful tutorial and video. Your fleece choice is adorable, especially the daisy fleece. I think this would make a great project for my teen daughter and I to do together!
Thank you so much Susan. I had so much fun selecting fleece for this project. I got it at JoAnn’s. The next two projects have gray and yellow fleece, too. Have fun making these with your daughter, it’s super fun and easy. 🙂

You are so very welcome Tiffany. Thank YOU for your nice comment.
Enjoyed watching your informative as well as entertaining video. I made a fleece blanket with this similar technique but never thought about using it for a hat. Very creative. Thanks
Thank you for your encouraging words Judy!
I did as you requested. Looks super easy and I’m going to make one this week! Thank you!!
Oh I’d love to see your hat, Susan. Have fun!

Hi Marianna, The photo didn’t come through. I’d love to see it, would you send it to beth@therenegadeseamstress.com
Nice colors and looks super soft. The fringes that were knotted are in the back? Can you post a photo of it?
Thank you, I’ll try and post one.
I went to both sites and signed in, making a comment. However, I kept getting a message to allow Facebook to track my activity which I don’t want to allow. I don’t think my comment was posted. Anyway, I love the video and the hat; it will be a great project to work on with my little nieces (ages 6 and 8) to get them ready for sewing machine use. Thanks for the great idea!
Oh Barbara, I’m sorry you had to go to so much effort. Thank you for trying anyway. 🙂 Have fun with your nieces, this would be a perfect beginner project.
Love this idea! I was sure there’s be alglue gun gluing the back seam, but I love the ties. So creative!
Haha! No glue gun required. 🙂 Thank you Marilyn.
Wow! What a great, no-sew, quick hat! I’m going to check my stash for some fleece!! Thank you!
Thank you Jeanette! Have fun! I’d love to see your hat when you finish.
