Yay! It’s Back! Open Casting Call for Refashion Runway Season Five

It’s back!!

Check out this new video trailer:

Refashion Runway: Season Five!

All of the creativity and talent brought by all of the contestants of the first four seasons was so impressive. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Refashion Runway Season Five will bring.

Here’s how it’ll work:

Much like Project Runway and The Great British Sewing Bee, we’ll choose eight refashion seamstresses (or seamsters) to compete in weekly challenges. The contestants will send in before and after videos or photos. The refashions will then be scored by judges and open to a popular vote. The scores will be combined to find a weekly winner and one competitor will be out (not without a prize for participating though). At the end of the series, whoever is left will not only receive a nice prize but will be crowned the winner of Refashion Runway Season Five!!

It’s such a great way to meet new people who love to do the same thing we do.

If you’re interested in participating as a competitor, please fill out this form explaining why you think you’d be perfect for this competition and email before and after photographs or videos of two of your favorite refashions to me at:

bhunting@eoni.com

This season will be a little different from the past. I would love to bring in more video and post it on my Youtube channel, Facebook page and Instagram. I’ll be learning right along with you so I hope you’ll tune in and join the fun.

Is this shown on any TV channel or just by UTube? Also, what is the fee for signing up for watching this on your post?I am interested in this, as I am wanting to start a refashioning project for women (and interested men) who are unemployed, underemployed or in need of learning a way to design clothing for themselves and their children inexpensively. I will especially work with the local Shelter for Abused Women and organizations that help the needy, young women who need wardrobes appropriate for interviews, seniors who need extra income, and others who have limited skills and backgrounds to qualify them to compete for employment. It will be a not-for-profit group with the mission to help build skills as seamstresses and designers to help improve their lives and to re-build self-esteem.Janet Douglas

    Hi

Because I am on your e mail list will I be getting the same info via e mail that would be on utube for the Refashion Runway?

I’m excited about this contest. I love to see results of a fashion re-fashion.

Where can I find more in-depth information about how the contest is run? You get a challenge once a week and then create something and send in images? Are we given a challenge or we just gather our upcycle garment materials and create our own challenge/garment?

    • Hi Lorri,
Thank you for your interest in Refashion Runway Season Five. Yes, the contestants are actually given the challenges at the beginning of the season so they have plenty of time to prepare and create. Then they send in before and after pictures and/or videos which are posted and then the audience gets to vote for their favorite and a panel of 4 judges score their work. The votes and judges scores are then combined to determine a weekly winner and the contestant with the lowest score “goes home” but not without a nice prize for participating.
If you’re interested in competing, you can fill out the form above and send in 2 before and after pictures to bhunting@eoni.com before January 4, 2020. We will then choose 8 people to compete.
For those not competing, there will also be an option to “Sew Along” with the challenges and have their work published, but not voted on.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
      Beth
