Get ready for one of my favorite projects of all time!
I absolutely LOVE how this bag turned out and it was super fun and easy to make.
If you’re looking for a great gift to make for someone or if you want to make one for yourself, you can make this in a few hours and in any color combination you’d like. All you need is some cotton clothesline and thread.

What a fantastic idea. Thank you so much for sharing. I will go right now to the ropeshop to make one.
Hester
Thanks Hester. I got the rope at my local hardware store. Have fun with this and I’d love to see yours when you’re finished.
What a clever idea, Beth. The ombre pattern is on trend and the strap design is ingenious 🙂
Thanks for your nice comment, Mother Deer. You are always so encouraging. I love how you can make any shape you’d like, just by how you hold the bag as you sew.
This is so cute! I’m going to share this with my Mum – she’s always making bags, we’ve got piles and piles of homemade goods in the corner at home.

Thank you Charmaine, I hope your mom gets a chance to make this, I think she’ll have fun!
This IS a great bag! I love it. Clever idea with the thread colors, nice touch.
Thanks Barb!!!
So clever!! I love the ombre idea ( and it is much easier than dyeing or painting it on). I definitely “need” one of these 😆.
Oh yes, and all you need is thread. 🙂 Have fun with this Lori and I’d love to see your bag if you make one. 🙂
I can see why its one of your favorite projects….its STUNNING! The ombre effect is subtle, but so effective! I am filing this away in my brain to be attempted at some point in the future. You are just so very clever!
Thank you Susan. That means so much coming from someone as talented as you!! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Omg! This is SUPER GORGEOUS 😍😍😍
The ombre effect is just so clever! I am definitely trying this
Oh I really hope you do. It’s so fun to make. I’d love to see it if you do. 🙂
Thanks so much Shyama!
It good to know about it. Thanks I’ll try it.
I hope you get a chance to try this sometime Rubenia. It’s super fun and can be made in so many different shapes and sizes.

I’ve been looking for a pretty basket to sit besides my hamper to toss the occasional handwash item into so it doesn’t get lost in the regular laundry but everything I like is insanely expensive. This idea fits the bill perfectly, with the added benefit of being squishy enough to roll up and stash when not needed!
Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging comment. This is such a fun project. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
