I almost wore my Hawaiian sundress to work yesterday, but I thought that would just be too obnoxious.
But can you blame me? We’re finally on our way to Hawaii. Our plane leaves in a few hours and by this afternoon, I’ll be lounging on the beach with a tropical drink in my hand. YAY!
Needless to say, there won’t be a whole lot of sewing going on next week, but I made sure to get the third episode of the Learn to Sew series up and running for you before I left:

If u r in Honolulu there are a couple of great fabric stores. Fabric Mart and Kaimuki Dry Goods. Have fun.
I did see a Fabric Mart, but the men I was traveling with were too excited to get to the beach that we didn’t stop. 😦 It was a snorkeling, swimming, surfing kind of trip instead. Maybe next time….
I second Kaimuki dry goods. Lots of imported fabrics but still some aloha prints. If you can only go to one, go to KDG. A little hard to find but GPS can get you there

Beth, If you are going to Oahu, they have an outdoor traders market called the Swap Meet. You would LOVE it . . . has lots of local artisan crafts and you can also buy fun Hawaiian print fabrics!!! Have a wonderful trip!

If you like the outdoors, go to the Dole Plantation on Oahu and take the self-guided garden tour – lots of neat information on plants and culture. Also, for historic culture, the Bishop Museum is fabulous. The local swap meet Mollynlucien mentioned above is at the stadium – Sundays and Wednesdays, I believe.
If you plan to hike Diamond Head, take plenty of water, *good* sneakers, and a camera! It’s a workout, but the view is amazing.
