I’ve got a secret to tell you……

secret-ways-to-make-your-sewing-blog-a-success

Today I’ve been having fun putting the finishing touches onto tomorrow’s live web seminar for BurdaStyle.

Blogging has been such a healthy part of my life for the last few years. When I started my little sewing blog, I never dreamed of the wonderful places it would take me, I never imagined the opportunities that would come my way and I never thought I would meet so many amazing people.

It’s been such a fun adventure for me and who knew I’d be publishing a book and creating content for great companies like eHow and BurdaStyle. I really want you to join in on the fun, so when BurdaStyle asked me to produce a seminar on creating a successful blog, I was first very flattered and then became super excited. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. So in this seminar, I will share with you many of the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Hi Beth! Just finished your webinar and it was awesome! I’ve been feeling for a while now that it’s time to step up my blogging efforts and reach out to others and I was really inspired by your tips and your great attitude. I love your blog (and LOVE refashioning 🙂 and just wanted to say thanks! I feel super motivated and excited for the future!

    • Yay! Thanks for being there Bonnie and I’m so glad it was helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I’d love to help in any way I can.

I do have a question about web design. Do you do all your own design and upkeep? I’m feeling totally overwhelmed with how to do technic updates and keep things flowing smoothly. Or do you hire someone to do occasional tweaks?

        • Hi,
I use WordPress which has many templates for you to choose from. It’s super user friendly and I do it all myself. There are many sites that are designed by a professional and maintained by a professional and maybe someday I’ll go that route. But for now, this seems to be working great. Let me know if you have any other questions, I’d be happy to try and help.

  3. Great Job Beth! I took a sub day to attend live (and finish my report cards in case I get called to jury service) Anyway…Great information loved it!

    • Oh wow, Mary. Thanks so much for being there today. It was fun to be the presenter. The only thing that would be more fun, would be to actually see everyone as I was speaking. Sounds like you’re finishing up school, too. My last day was Monday.

  4. Thank you so much, Beth! I just finished your webinar. I’m in Los Angeles and had to get set up at 7am because I wanted to be live, but it was soooo worth it. Yours was my first webinar 🙂 I learned so much and took 3 pages of notes! My head is filled with new, exciting ideas. One thing I forgot to ask was: Are there any Web Analytics tools that you would recommend?

I’m a newbie to blogging. Here is what I have started ( http://www.pdsewingpatterns.com ), but I haven’t taken it off the ground just yet. Your webinar really helped answer a lot of questions. Thanks again for the great content and I love your blog!

    • So nice to meet you, Natalie! And thank you so much for participating in the webinar and I’m delighted it was helpful to you. I checked out your blog and it looks like you’re off to a great start. Please let me know if you have any questions along the way, I’d be happy to help.
      Have a wonderful weekend!
      Beth

    • Oops, I forgot to answer your question about the Web Analytics. The only one I use is the stats that WordPress provides so I’m really not familiar with any of the other programs.
