As you probably noticed from yesterday’s post, I’m trying on a new name for size.
Now that I’ve had a chance to look in the mirror a bit, I think I’m going to slip into this one, it feels much more comfortable.
I had some nice people give me some feedback and I’m wondering what you think.
If you have a spare moment, I’d love to hear what you think about the new name……
The Renegade Seamstress
The name is cool. In my opinion whatever you name your blog is fine. Your content and the easy way you show how to create great fashions from other people hand me downs, speaks volumes.
You’re so kind! Thanks for the feedback!!! I really appreciate it!
Beth
I love it!
Thanks, Jenny. Looks like The Renegade Seamstress is going to be the new name.
Beth
I think it’s a great name!
Thanks for taking the time to comment! The Renegade Seamstress it is!
Beth
Fantastic! You can be the Renegade Rapscallion of Remaking! 🙂
🙂
Fantastic! You can be the Renegade Rapscallion of Remaking! 🙂 or Remixing?!
Now you’re talkin’!!!
Yep, love it!!! Now you sound…..Tuff and dangerous but still a girl!
Ohhhh, I like that…..Tuff and dangerous but still a girl!
Thanks, Kelli
Love it!
Thanks!
I love the renegade part, but seriously think you need to put refashion in there somehow. I have tried to think of how, but….THAT is what is so awesome about your work…you turn things people thought were done into something amazing and give it new life!!!! Just my opinion…..to refashion you need to be a seamstress but not all seamstresses CAN refashion!!! THAT is your expertise and the new name should reflect that…..:)

Thanks! Looks like The Renegade Seamstress it is, then!
Beth

Thanks so much!
I think the name fits better for what your blog is about. Love your work. At first glance I thought the original one said chicken something 🙂
That’s so funny, You’re not alone on the chicken thing!!!
Beth 🙂
I like the Renegrade Seamtress but think you need a catchy tagline, such as ..hopping on the refashion bandwagon… or something similar so readers will quickly know what you’re about
You are so right about a tagline. Great idea!
Thanks for taking the time to give me feedback. It’s very helpful to see it through someone else’s eyes.
Beth
Much more fitting title! Keep it 🙂
Paula
Thanks, Paula!
Looks like The Renegade Seamstress it is!
Beth
I love it…perfect! 🙂
Thanks, Valerie!
I really like it. It does a good job of telling your audience what your blog is about and what they can expect up front.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. It’s means a lot to me to see this through new eyes.
Beth
I’m likin’ the name change, Beth. Suits you. 😉
~ Cara
Dear Cara,
Since you use words to paint amazing pictures, your comment means so much to me. I loved the idea of renegade meaning to do something in an unconventional way, because I am far from sewing like the pros. I just start swingin’ my rope, holler out a big “yee haw”, then start cutting and stitching away. I get much more satisfaction sewing this way than reading and following a pattern. I’m sure trained sewists cringe when they see how I do some of this.
Thanks again for taking the time to give me your opinion!
Hope all is well with you,
Beth
Love it!
Thanks, Kelly!
I love the name….you are our fearless leader!!! Keep up the great refashions!!
Thanks, Deann. You are too cute!!!
Beth
I think the name fits! Your creativity is inspiring!
Thanks, Marty!
I hope you toenails are looking good! 🙂
Thinking of you and wish you a speedy recovery!
Beth
So love it!
Thanks a bunch!
I like your new name a lot. It’s very memorable. I could never remember your old name so I just bookmarked it on my computer.
I know what you mean about the old name. I used to have a small business making custom invitations and handmade cards with fabric envelopes. Hence the name, Chic Envelopements. When I jumped into this blogging thing I thought I might do something with all that again, but this adventure has gone in such a different and delightful direction. So a name change was in order. Thanks for taking the time to comment. It means so much!
Beth
I almost deleted your post because I didn’t recognize the name. I like the new name. It just takes that initial getting used to seeing the change in my inbox.
Thanks, Capri! Looks like the new name is gonna stay. Here’s to not being deleted! 🙂
Beth
You have my vote! “break with established customs” is one of the definitions of Renegade – which you do by refashioning clothing. But I like “goodbyevalentino’s” suggestion to add a tagline using refashion, refashioning or some such. Keep great clothing ideas coming 🙂
You are so kind to take the time to give me feedback on the new name! I agree, a tagline is in order for sure. I think I almost have one ready.
Beth
It’s perfect! The name fits you better than chic envelopments. And I’m much more inclined to open and read your emails since I’m a renegade myself.! Well done, you.
Here’s from one renegade to another!
Cheers!
Beth
I think it’s ace! It’s like you’re a maverick refashioning outlaw ready to rid the world of fashion mistakes!! 🙂
Ohhhh, I like that!!!!
Following on from Goodbye Valentino….how about Renegade Refashioner: Sewing Beyond Your Wildest Seams…
I love this! How about The Renegade Seamstress with the tagline Refashions Beyond Your Wildest Seams……. I think I’m gonna owe you one! 🙂
Beth
You’ve nailed it! Nothing owed….the chortles-to-myself from thinking this through were more than compensatory!
Or rather….Renegade Refashioner:Sewing Beyond My Wildest Seams
OK, you are sew clever!!!! 🙂 I do like this idea, I think you’re on to something good!!!
Oh yah, that totally works!
I’m actually quite excited about it all.
Thanks,
Beth
Much cooler name! I like the photo with the yellow ruffle.
Thanks, here’s to The Renegade Seamstress! I think I’m gonna keep it!
Love it! Great name.
Thank you!
I love the new name, Beth! You are SO creative! It’s alot of fun seeing what new thing you have done, each week. Keep up the great work.
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for the kind words! Hope you’re finding ways to keep cool over there. Give my big sis a hug from me.
Beth
CherryPix does it again! Is this woman for hire?
I think CherryPix is on to something good, too.
One suggestion – Renegade RefasionER may have one too many syllables.
Renegade Refashions – Sewing Beyond My Wildest Seams
Yes, that is better.
I’m lovin the new name!!;-) couldn’t have picked a better one!;-)
Thank you! Looks like I’m gonna be The Renegade Seamstress. It feels much better.
Beth
I think the new name is perfect.
Thanks Corinne!
I love the new name. It sounds more like what you actually do, which means it should sit better in internet searches etc that people do.
Thanks Karen! I hope so.
Beth
I just came across your site when searching for tie dye techniques and I love the name! I often wonder how to re-purpose vintage finds…so double awesome for me. 😀
Congrats on a fantastic site!
Thanks so much for visiting!!! I hope you’ll come back for another!
Beth
I LOVE the new name! You are a Refashioning Rebel With A Cause! Yee Haw!
