Just imagine……..

Just imagine what you would do if you could have some time to do anything you wanted.

I was lucky to be able to work half time a few years ago. I used that time to just imagine what I could do if…… so I started a custom card and invitation business, called Alchemy Paperworks. How fun was that!!!!

Someone asked me the other day if I was still creating cards and custom invitations. It got me thinking how much I loved doing that. I really had the perfect life. Teaching half time and being able to have time to spend with Cooper and create. There is nothing I like better. I’ve heard people say that they feel so “alive” when they are creating. That’s exactly how I feel. I lose all track of time and space.

I think the words I chose to put on my cards really expressed the way I wanted people to feel when they bought my cards. I was lucky and had stores in Jackson Hole, Portland, La Grande, Baker City, and Minneapolis selling my cards. Every time I would get an order, I’d get giddy inside.

I use embroidered linen, corduroy, chenille, flannel, cotton, suede, denim, seersucker, any fabric at all for my paper lined fabric envelopes.

I think the pink baby collection was one of my favorites. I loved making baby shower invitations with these.

Designing my display boards and booth was just as much fun as creating the cards themselves.  Perhaps I should start selling on etsy.

One of my favorite things has always been going to the fabric store. I love touching the fabric and imagining what I could make with it. My mom gave me the biggest gift when she taught me to sew and love fabric and creating. I feel as though I’m channeling her and my sister Kathie when I’m lost in my world of creation.

I’m going to leave you with this last card. Just imagine………….

Since I’m not doing this sort of thing any more, please let me know if you’d like to purchase my stash of fabric envelopes for your own card and invitation making. I’ll give you a great deal. I just need to make room for my new refashioning hobby. I’ve got loads of pink, blue and sage green chenille envelopes, perfect for baby shower invitations or baby announcements. Many corduroy, cotton, embroidered linen, suede, and minky envelopes also remain for some crafty card maker to use. These can be sent through the mail. Just slip them in a clear envelope, put on a label and off it goes. Email me at bhunting@eoni.com if you’d like more information.

Beth, your cards are so beautiful. I feel like I just took a mini vacation just looking through them! One of my favorite gifts at Maryn’s baby shower was those adorable pink thank you notes 🙂

Such lovely work, Beth. Good luck with your Etsy Store. I’ve listed you on my creative links as Paper craft. Let me know if you’d sooner be under something else. Janene 🙂

    • Thank you so much Janene! Would it be OK to be a link under sewing also, I’ve devoted most of this blog to refashioning. Thanks! You are now on my blogroll AND you are one of the Launch party winners! Where would you like me to send your card? Beth
