How to Sew Journals and Books

I’ve always loved fabric, but back when paper companies started to produce so many beautiful papers, I just couldn’t get enough of them. I was obsessed with scrapbooking, hand made cards, and envelopes. I loved creating unique invitations, boxes, and tags for special events. Today I went back in time and combined my love of sewing with paper to create these fun books with a sewing machine.

You can put these colorful books all around your house to record your thoughts, generate unique artwork, make those lists or even document your travels. You never know when I bright idea is going to hit you and you are going to need to make a note of it.

How to Sew A Zippered Pillow Cover

Promise. Possibility. Potential.

If I had a fabric store, that’s what I’d name it.

Those words describe exactly how I feel when I walk through the doors, grab a cart and start running my hands over all of the beautiful textiles. It seems as if anything is in the realm of possibility. There is just something magical that happens when my eyes take in all of the wonderful colors and patterns. I instantly feel better, no matter what is happening in my life. It’s no wonder there are stacks and stacks of fabric in my studio.

Pretty sure I’m not alone…:)

Decorative throw pillows are a great way to bring those beautiful fabrics that inspired you off the shelves and into your home. Especially if you add a zipper. Zippers allow you to make quick seasonal design changes and freshen up any room in your house.

How to Make a Little Girl’s Sweater Even If Knitting Isn’t Your Thing

Knitting Envy.

It’s a thing, you know, and I’ve got it bad.

It’s that jealousy you feel when your social media feed is filled with cute little girls in those adorable little hand knit sweaters but sewing is more your thing than knitting.

No need to scroll on past and give into that green eyed monster because there is a way to wrap your little one in a handmade sweater using your mad sewing skills instead. And to top it all off, it’s actually pretty easy.

Just grab a big sweater, some bias tape , a few buttons and you’re on your way.

How to Look Great and Avoid Hat Hair This Winter

Move over headband, now there’s an even better way to stay warm and look great with your hair up.

Make this trendy messy bun/ponytail hat even if your skills don’t include knitting or crocheting.

Just grab an old sweater and some fun bias tape and make your own.
