When the time comes to venture out and stock up on essential groceries, there are a few things you can do to keep yourself safe. In addition to social distancing, wearing a mask and having a list to reduce your time in the store, attach a washable handle cover to give yourself one more line of defense. Keep it in a plastic zipper bag until you’re ready to use it. After sanitizing the handle with a disinfecting wipe, attach the cover. When you’re finished shopping, just fold the cover up and put it back in the bag. Throw it in the wash when you get home and your handle cover will be all ready for the next time you need to head to the store.

All you need is a couple of fabric pieces and some velcro.

OMG! What an Excellent idea! Thank you!
Thank you Barbara!
This is a super smart Idea!!! Love it!
Thank you so much!
I really hope that the purse did not go in with you and be put into the cart. Because that means the hand cover isn’t worth much 😂
Hmmmmm… personally, I haven’t been shopping much but when I do go in, I use a crossbody bag. And to be honest, this was filmed in my studio and not in a store. Not putting a purse in the cart would definitely be another line of defense.
What a wonderful idea, I would say that moms would love this or little ones in the seat now and even after Corona! Thanks , I think I’ll make these for shower gifts.
Thank you Ethylann! Your friends are lucky to have you making things for them. 🙂
I have a issue with the 10 3 ply shopping cart covers I made today.
They are too short to wrap around the handle and only cover 1/2 the velcro…any suggestions on how I can salvage this project? sad
Hi Karen, I’m sorry this has happened to you. The directions fit most all of the shopping cart handles in my area. I wonder if you adhered two of the covers you made together with the velcro if that would work for you?
Is this reversible? I mean, can either side/pattern be shown after putting it on the cart?
Yes, I think it would be reversible.
