I’ve always been a DIY kind of girl.
Pouring over each and every issue of Mother Earth News magazine from the time I was in my teens, reading every article and trying out many of the projects. I imagined myself living off the land, growing my own food, and making everything from scratch. I even tried making acorn bread, with the flour I made by grinding thousands of acorns that fell from our oak trees in Minnesota.
My huge collection of Mother Earth News magazines, packed in a old, wooden ammunition box, came along with me on my adventures in Montana and Wyoming. Although my life didn’t turn out to be a complete homestead kind of existence, I still love doing things myself and reading Mother Earth News.
Imagine my delight when my publishers told me that Mother Earth News wanted to highlight a project from MY book, The Refashion Handbook, on their website.
I was so excited! How cool is that!!!
Moi in Mother Earth News!!!
AND….
that is not all, oh no that is not all….
if they get enough traffic and response to their website post, they said they would highlight The Refashion Handbook in their print magazine, too. Oh, how I would love to get the refashion word out and actually be in a print copy of Mother Earth News!!!
You can help get the refashion word out by clicking here to read the Mother Earth News article and letting them know what you think of refashioning and The Renegade Seamstress by pinning it, sharing it, or commenting on their article.
Thanks so much!!!
Beth
I can see it now…….. 🙂
I have a new hobby in refashioning clothes to keep me feeling happy through the long cold winter. I started in my own closet and then in the Seondhand stores. It feels so good to go into the Secondhand stores knowing that I can refashion my piece of clothing whether it is the wrong size. Going into a fabric store anymore is expensive and full of craft items with a strong smell of chemical perfumes. It so nauseating that I dread going. The Renegade Seamstress offers great ideas with clear easy instructions to help me along. I’m leaving a lighter foot print too by recycling my clothing or someone elses.
Clicked 🙂 Good luck and congratulations!!
Congrats!! I soooo enjoy you and your site!!
Very cool! I used to read Mother Earth too. I posted a comment on their site. I don’t know if it went through, no submit button except to enter a sweepstakes!! This makes me want to subscribe to Mother Earth News again.
Pinned! OMG! Run around in little circles!

Love you!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! That is so great. I love Mother Earth News magazine and am so happy for you. I made my own blanket coat out of an old wool blanket that I had laying in the back of my car after seeing your tutorial. I have been re-purposing for my Etsy shop for a little over a year now and before that just for myself. I can’t wait till I get a copy of your book for myself.
I bet you will get into the print magazine also.
Good luck and God bless,
SallyAnn Bruce
