Oh. My. Gosh! My latest eHow video has almost 9 million views already! (UPDATE: It’s now received over 48 million facebook views…. Shesh-ka-bob!!! 🙂 )
I’m soooooo excited!
I’ve been hoping one of my videos would break the million mark, but this surpassed all of my hopes!
I love the idea of this Soup Bowl Hot Pad. Use it for hot bowls of soup, or even cold bowls of ice cream.
My friend Barb suggested using them to put between dishes in the camper to keep everything safe while traveling. BRILLIANT!

Hi Beth! These are so nice! I have admired them at bazaars and now have a pattern. Thank you! I hope you are well. I have been inspired to break out the sewing machine with a grandson due in 7 weeks! Take care! Marty

Hi Marty! Congratulations on your grandson! How exciting. Hope to see you sometime soon. 🙂
Hi Beth,
Congratulations! 9 million views is phenomenal. It’s a lovely idea, especially for those box set or movie nights snuggled on the sofa as the nights draw in. My mind went straight to a matching napkin too (I’m a messy eater). I love Barb’s idea, if I travelled in a camper (in the UK a lot of people holiday in caravans they pull by car, I’ve heard the contents are really in place come the journeys end!) I’d sew up a set of matching cross ties to keep the bowls secure and extend the idea of pads to plates too (omg, how good would these be for a barbecue?!) British roads are very bumpy, especially in the countryside! I’m not sure the crockery would survive some journeys!!! I’m sure these would help.
Congratulations again, with the amount of effort you put in to your instructions and blog posts it must feel very rewarding.
That should have been “… The contents are rarely in place”…
Darn predictive text!
LOL! That happens to me all the time. 🙂
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I love your idea of the matching napkins. I hope you get a chance to make some of these someday. They are super easy and fun to make. 🙂 Happy autumn!!

Hello!
I really want to make several of these for Christmas gifts—-but I’m confused by “Make marks 2 inches from the top and 1 inch over from the fold.” How do you fold the square—diagonally or “hamburger” style? How many marks? I just need specifics, please. I am a sewer and am educated, but I can’t wrap my brain around this particular and important direction. Help!
Hi Leware, You can see the full step by step directions here: https://www.ehow.com/13429408/how-to-make-soup-bowl-hot-pads
