Happy Game of Thrones Day!

I’m usually a “reality, give ’em a challenge, and kick ’em off one by one” TV show type of gal.

But NOT today!

No, not today!

Today, I’m a “mystical, hatch a dragon, marry a hunky warrior, and live in a castle” TV show type of gal.

So make some popcorn and move over on the couch, my favorite show is returning to HBO tonight. Seems like an eternity!

So much eye candy, great costumes, visual effects, and a compelling story line that would even make the Real Housewives of New Jersey jealous.

I know what you’re saying, “Beth, you always seem to go for those ruggedly handsome guys.”

Well, YES I DO. Thank you very much!

The costume designers are genius!

(Hmmm…I wonder if I have something in my stash to refashion into this little number….)

Now, my ruggedly handsome husband and I very seldom agree on    movies or TV. He loves the action shows and as I mentioned before I’m more into reality TV. But Game of Thrones has both of us snuggled up together on the couch. Now anything that can do that has got to be good!

Check it out tonight and let me know what you think! I can hardly wait!

I am reading the books right now!

    • I bet the books are great! I stumbled upon this series last year and I’m never disappointed. They sure made us wait a long time for the next season. If I’d known there were books, I would’ve read them in between. How many are there?

  2. prttynpnk says:

Winter is coming….and I am seriously giddy!!!

  3. Heidi Netland says:

This is so funny! I have never heard of the show but at Mel’s they were talking about this show too. Apparently, Jeff ordered HBO this morning just so he could watch Game of Thornes!

  4. CherryPix says:

My dear husband and daughter just finished a weekend marathon of watching all episodes of GoT to date on DVD…. It’s going global ! (I was blissfully pottering away on sewing projects). I am curious though ….

    GOOD MORNING!

It is SO nice to meet you! Thank you for coming to visit me last night and YOU TOO ARE A TEACHER? Are you too feeling the change that is a bit hard to take? In our district, we have taken on RTI; it is an intervention program and in theory it is great. In practice, it is another thing. HOWEVER, it is possible. BUT with the lack of two excellent teachers, we have all in my grade level, have had to teach not just our own fourth grade homerooms but the class of another colleague. It is a bit much, and the stress of always trying to keep up HIGH STANDARDS with low resources and help has worn on me. I wish you success as YOU figure out what you will be doing in your teaching job….it was a lovely seven years for me, but the last two quite frankly, have brought me to the decision I made to leave full-time teaching.

    OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!! Anita

    • Oh, yes. I’m feeling everything you mentioned. I’ve taught for 22 years and this pre and post testing for every standard is ridiculous! Especially in Kindergarten. We’ve had to throw so much play and creative time out the window so we can TEST TEST TEST and now they’re talking no recess. The powers that be need to get a grip, I say. Like you said, in theory, it’s got some merit, but in practice, it’s quite another thing. Our profession is losing so many good people like you. But I’m so happy for you and for now, I’ll just have to live vicariously through you!

I’ve never heard of it! But any show that my husband and I can watch together is a good one, so maybe I’ll try it next week since I just finished Downton Abbey.

  7. I love GoT!!! I just finished booki 3 of the series. Both hubby and I love it. I remember the first episode. He turned on the show and I thought “Oh no, yet another of his goofy scifi shows. It only took a few minutes before I was hooked. I can hardly wait for the rest of the season.

  8. joybrewed says:

my husband loves this show!! he watched the first season alone last year…this is something to think about; maybe it will be one of those shows we’d agree to watch together! 😉 thanks!

  9. candy says:

It was the longest wait for Season 2. I miss Ned. 😦

  10. Hahaha I love this too. I was loving the knotted medieval necklines and collars (e.g. Arya’s fencing costume) in season 1. Season 2 seems a bit slow and scattered to me..

    • I was just telling my husband that this season seems to be filled with too much torture and gore. Hopefully it’ll get better. Especially after I announced it to the world that it was one of my favorite shows.

      • My partner’s read up to book 4 (I read the first after Season 1 and got over it quickly) and says it stays good but apparently the show’s cutting out a lot of detail and changing stuff. I guess the gore is unavoidable due to the medieval setting but apparently there is a lot of character development in store esp. for Denerys. The avclub (avclub.com) has a newbies (for those who haven’t read the book) review+ comments discussion (no spoilers allowed; there’s a separate one for those viewers who’ve read the books) I’d recommend that highly (keeping in mind that this is the internet and there are a lot of not so related/ funny comments too…
